LG OLED — two years on

I bought my LG OLED 65" model B7 in December 2017. Amazing colors, HDR makes going to the movies a thing of the past (if only there were zero-day movie-streaming services!). It’s got apps — Netflix, Amazon, Youtube, and more! Nice.

I had to replace my receiver since it didn’t support HDMI-ARC, so there was no way of getting the sound from the TV to my receiver (who even uses optical anymore!). Fine, I got myself the recommended Denon AVR-X1400. Now I had sound, but with occasional problems — sometimes it just disappeared. I tried every hint I could find, but eventually, read somewhere about HDMI-2.0 cables. Got one from Amazon, and — bingo!

Almost two years later, my two-year warranty about to run out, and suddenly the sound disappears. I didn’t want to spend more time on this issue, so I just plugged an optical cable for audio, and left it at that. But a couple of weeks later all I could get from y TV was “Smart services will be available shortly”.

That was enough, so I called the repair services, and less than a week later, they returned my unit, with the CPU board replaced. Now everything works fine again.
